Day 1: Arusha/Serengeti

Pick up at 9:00am from your Hotel in Arusha and depart for Serengeti National Park, en-route game drive, picnic lunch and afternoon a short game drive in Serengeti National Park, dinner and overnight, budget camping at Seronera Campsite or similar.

Day 2: Serengeti National Park:

The entrance gate leads into shadowy montane forest inhabited by inquisitive Tanzania blue monkeys and colourful turacos and trogons – the only place on the Tanzania northern safari circuit where the acrobatic black-and-white colobus monkey is easily seen. In the midst of the forest stands the spectacular Ngurdoto Crater, whose steep, rocky cliffs enclose a wide marshy floor dotted with herds of buffalo and warthog. Although elephants are uncommon in Arusha National Park, and lions absent altogether, leopards and spotted hyenas are present. View the majestic snow-capped peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro, only 50km away. Mount Kilimanjaro climbing neighbour, Mount Meru - the fifth highest in Africa at 4,566 m– dominates the park’s horizon.
